Analisis Akurasi Sensor Piezoelektrik dalam Mendeteksi Intensitas Sampah pada Sistem Smart Waste Management

Pengelolaan sampah di wilayah perkotaan sering menghadapi ketidakefisienan akibat kurangnya data real-time mengenai volume sampah, yang berdampak pada rute pengangkutan yang kurang optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas penggunaan sensor getaran piezoelektrik berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) sebagai alternatif berbiaya rendah dalam mendeteksi intensitas pembuangan sampah. Metode prototyping diterapkan dengan menggunakan mikrokontroler ESP32 yang terintegrasi dengan platform cloud ThingSpeak, serta penerapan algoritma debouncing berbasis interval waktu untuk meminimalkan pembacaan ganda akibat sisa getaran. Pengujian dilakukan dengan memvariasikan jenis objek sampah pada media kardus sebagai simulasi tempat sampah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem mencapai tingkat keberhasilan 100% dalam pengiriman data ke cloud pada interval pembuangan lebih dari 16 detik, meskipun ditemukan kendala dalam mendeteksi sampah berbobot ringan (kurang dari 5 gram) sehingga memerlukan kalibrasi ambang batas yang presisi. Secara keseluruhan, metode deteksi berbasis getaran dinilai layak diterapkan dan lebih ekonomis dibandingkan sensor ultrasonik, meskipun memerlukan penyesuaian mekanis pada material tempat sampah untuk mencapai kinerja optimal.
