The development of information technology has encouraged the implementation of the Internet of Things (IoT) in attendance systems to address the limitations of manual methods, which are often inefficient, prone to errors, and incapable of supporting real-time monitoring. Therefore, this study aims to design and develop an IoT-based attendance system using ESP32 with web integration to improve the efficiency and accuracy of attendance recording. This study employed the Waterfall method, which consists of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The attendance system was developed using an ESP32 microcontroller connected to an RFID module as the attendance input medium. Attendance data obtained from RFID scanning are transmitted to a server via the internet and stored in a database. The data are then managed and displayed through a web-based application that can be accessed by administrators for monitoring and reporting purposes. The testing results indicate that the developed system is capable of automatically recording and transmitting attendance data in real time with a high level of accuracy. The integration of the ESP32 hardware, RFID module, and web-based application functioned as designed, facilitating centralized attendance data management. The system can reduce recording errors and improve the efficiency of the attendance process compared with conventional methods. Based on the research findings, the IoT-based attendance system using ESP32 and web integration has proven to be effective and has the potential for further development.
