Jurnal SINTIKA is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and ensuring the integrity of the scholarly publishing process. The journal follows the ethical principles and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

These ethical guidelines apply to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.


1. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are expected to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical research practices.

Authors must:

  • Submit only original manuscripts that have not been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal.
  • Ensure that their work is free from plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, and other forms of academic misconduct.
  • Present research findings accurately, honestly, and transparently without manipulating or misrepresenting data.
  • Properly acknowledge and cite all sources used in the manuscript in accordance with accepted academic standards.
  • Ensure that all individuals who have made significant scholarly contributions are appropriately listed as authors, while those with insufficient contributions should not be included as co-authors.
  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the interpretation or publication of the research.
  • Notify the Editorial Board promptly if a significant error or inaccuracy is discovered after publication, and cooperate in issuing corrections, retractions, or other appropriate actions.

2. Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for maintaining the quality, fairness, and integrity of the editorial process.

Editors must:

  • Make publication decisions based solely on the manuscript's scientific merit, originality, significance, and relevance to the journal's scope.
  • Evaluate manuscripts without discrimination based on nationality, ethnicity, gender, religion, institutional affiliation, or political beliefs.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and related correspondence.
  • Avoid using unpublished materials contained in submitted manuscripts for personal research without the author's explicit written consent.
  • Handle manuscripts objectively and transparently while avoiding any actual or potential conflicts of interest.
  • Take appropriate action when ethical concerns or allegations of misconduct arise.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers play a vital role in maintaining the quality and credibility of published research.

Reviewers must:

  • Conduct reviews objectively, fairly, and constructively to assist authors in improving their manuscripts.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all information contained in the manuscript.
  • Evaluate manuscripts based solely on scholarly merit and scientific evidence without personal or institutional bias.
  • Inform the Editor if they identify possible plagiarism, duplicate publication, data manipulation, or other ethical concerns.
  • Decline to review a manuscript if a conflict of interest exists with the authors, institutions, or the research itself.
  • Complete the review process within the agreed review period whenever possible.

4. Responsibilities of the Publisher

The Publisher is committed to supporting ethical publishing practices and maintaining the integrity of the scientific record.

The Publisher shall:

  • Support the Editorial Board in implementing and enforcing publication ethics policies.
  • Work collaboratively with editors and reviewers in addressing suspected cases of publication misconduct.
  • Ensure that editorial decisions remain independent from commercial or institutional interests.
  • Maintain the long-term accessibility, preservation, and availability of published articles through the journal's online publication system.
  • Promote transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in scholarly publishing.
